Chairman of the Centre for Environment and Development, as well as of the Empowerment and Assistive Technology Centre for the Blind, Chakshumathi, Director General of the International Non Profit Trust for promotion of Renewable Energy called INGCORE, and a member of the UN Foundations’ Energy Access Practitioners’ Network. Former Managing Director of UN sponsored International Network on Small Hydropower (and the UNIDO International Centre on SHP) in Hangzhou, China (2001-’05). International Energy Consultant to UNIDO, UNEP and JICA through free lance international missions for renewable energy promotion around the globe. Recipient of IEEE 2012 Historical Achievement Award for design and development of hybrid renewable energy systems in remote rural areas of Asia and Africa, 2014 IEEE Global Meritorious Achievement Award for design and delivery of faculty training modules for young engineers and Trivandrum Management Association’s 1999 Management Leadership Award. Former President of Science Writers’ Forum KSSP under whose leadership the Silent Valley environmental debate was taken up in Kerala.

Director: Dr. Padmakumar Nair

Dr. Nair, Director and Dean of LM Thapar School of Management, is an accomplished researcher, professor and a scholar in the area of leadership development sustainability. He specializes in Strategizing for Sustainability, Social & Commercial Entrepreneurship and Nanomaterials for Photovoltaic Devices.
His current interests are in the areas of leadership for sustainability and entrepreneurship with a focus on using evolutionary psychology principles to improve human condition and organizational effectiveness. He has taught, consulted, researched and conducted executive and leadership development workshops in the US, India, Japan, the Netherlands, China, UK and South Korea, in companies such as Ericsson, Texas Capital Bank, Citi Bank, Hitachi, NEC, Kao, Alcatel-Lucent, Compucom, Genesys Labs, Pfizer etc.
He has a Ph.D. from the University of Twente in the Netherlands and a Dr. Engg. from the University of Tokyo, Japan, an MBA from Heriot-Watt University in the UK and an M.Tech in metallurgical engineering from IIT, Kharagpur, India. Currently he holds a visiting professorship at the University of Twente in the Netherlands and UT Dallas, USA.
